ABOUT
Meet Dr. Christy Ticheli
I’m glad you’re here.
Reaching out for support takes courage. My hope is that this can be a place where you feel understood, supported, and able to show up as yourself while we work toward meaningful change in your life.
Why I Created Heartfelt Counseling
Heartfelt Counseling was created from a simple belief: everyone deserves a place where they can feel seen, fully heard, and supported through the things they’re carrying.
Throughout my years as a social worker and therapist, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of the most difficult seasons of their lives. Again and again, I’ve seen both how much people carry- and how much strength they already have within them.
I wanted to create a practice where therapy feels personal, compassionate, and grounded in genuine connection. A place where you don’t have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.
Healing can begin one conversation at a time.
A Little About Me
I’m a wife, a mom, and an animal lover who believes some of life’s best moments are often the simplest ones. When I’m not in my office, you’ll usually find me spending time outdoors, antiquing, exploring back roads in my Jeep, or enjoying a quiet moment with a Coke Zero in my hand.
There’s something about rolling the windows down, turning the music up, and feeling the wind blow through my hair that reminds me to slow down and simply be present. For me, those moments are a form of grounding- a gentle reminder to step out of the constant rush and reconnect with what matters most.
I believe in the power of genuine connection, the beauty of small moments, and the resilience people often don’t realize they already possess. Those same values shape the way I approach therapy.
Healing doesn’t always happen through dramatic breakthroughs. More often, it begins in quiet moments of awareness, meaningful conversations, and small steps that gradually lead to lasting change.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe therapy is most meaningful when it feels collaborative. My role isn’t to tell you who you should become, but to create a space where you can explore your experiences, recognize your strengths, and move toward the life you want to build.
I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and trauma-informed care. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your individual needs, goals, and experiences.
Above all, I believe healing happens through a relationship built on trust, compassion, and genuine connection.
